Guinas Constituency has a population of 5 460 people (according the 4th Delimitation of 2013) with an area of 4,569.91 Km2. A large part of the constituency is made up of commercial farms. The settlement area of Oshivelo which was proclaimed in the year 1999 is part of the constituency. Most of the service centers are concentrated at Oshivelo settlement because of NamPost, fuel station and small shop outlets. There are few communal localities.
The newly constructed Tsumeb- Katwitwi road pass through Guinas constituency which means that the Guinas constituency is well connected to Tsumeb, Kavango West region and the northern part of Oshikoto Region. The recently declared settlement area of Tsintsabis will be the capital of the constituency. The project for constructing the Constituency office in Tsintsabis is ongoing and upon completing the office will be relocated from Oshivelo to Tsintsabis.
Economic activities
Agriculture: agriculture is one of the prominent sectors in the constituency. The constituency is surrounded by commercial farms. The concentration of the commercial farms is a result of the vast fertile land and good rainfall in the area. There are also a few resettlement farms in the constituency. The Oshikoto Fruit and vegetable farm in Guinas constituency produces products found in some local markets. Cattle farming are also prominent in the constituency where farmers have good grazing areas at their disposal. Since a larger part of the constituency is covered by commercial farms, development in the other sectors is at a small scale.
Education: Guinas constituency has a total of 6 schools that comprises of 5 primary schools and 1 combined school. There is no secondary school in the constituency.
Health: There are 3 health facilities in the constituency, a district hospital and 2 clinics.
